Characters

People (and pets) who are mentioned frequently on this site are featured here. Every few days/weeks, another character will be added, until most of the prominent players in my life are covered.

Cassie CASSIE
AKA: Stinky, Miniature Holstein, Hoover, Rat Terrorist
Likes: Food, chasing varmints, cuddling
Dislikes: Vacuum cleaners, thunderstorms, diets
Her story: Caramelhead found Cassie on the Web page for the Humane Society of Lewisville in the autumn of 2001. After some deliberation, we decided to see if she should join our then-dogless household. After a long (but worthwhile) drive to Denton, we decided to adopt her.
Gretchen GRETCHEN
AKA: Blondedog, Underfoot, Honey Bear
Likes: Water, cheese, her kennel
Dislikes: The outdoors, diesel engines, Spongebob Squarepants
Her story: A November 2002 trip to Petco landed Gretchen with us. We had gone with the intention of buying a plecostomus, but wound up falling in love with this German Shepherd/Collie/Golden Retriever cross at an adoption event held by the Lake Whitney Humane Society.
Kristin KRISTIN
AKA: Salsza, Goatgirl
Likes: Red shirts, coffee, Andalusian pygmy goats
Dislikes: Spilling shit on herself, yarfing, queefing, Boobs' singing
Her story: I toiled away as an undergraduate at the University of Manitoba's Dept. of Geological Sciences with Kristin for three years. But now she toils in the long shadow of Bill Gates & Co. while I roam the highways of North Texas. And guys, don't harass me about how to get hold of her because she's living with a pirate named Cap'n Bobby Eyepatch.
Kristin MEAGAN
AKA: Pretty Girl, Shitass
Likes: Peppermints, swimming, rolling in mud
Dislikes: Bison, having her feet done, being startled
Her story: Meagan is the horse I married into. Shortly after I started dating Caramelhead, the folks who owned the stable where she kept her old gelding offered to trade Meagan (then a yearling) for old Larry. Meagan followed us to Texas some 10 months after moving and has thrived. It's amazing what open pasture can do for a horse.
